Afksendiyos Kalangos M.D.

Ord. Professor Dr. Kalangos graduated from Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1984. He served as a forensic and prison physician in Giresun between 1984-1986. After he completed his residency at Dr. Siyami Ersek Breast Heart And Vascular Surgery Training And Research Hospital in 1991, he received his minor training in London and later in Paris. In 1993, he started his career as a Cardiovascular surgeon at the Geneva Medical School Hospital. Kalangos was assigned to the vice chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery in 1998, to the chair of the department in 2001 and to the director of the Cardiovascular Center in 2011. He received the title professor in 2006, ordinarius professor from the Medical School of the University of Geneva in 2012. He has more than 300 articles and he was invited to 800 conferences as a guest speaker. He has 4 different techniques, which have been published and accepted in the international surgeon's magazines, and also has a bio-absorbable lid known with his own name and a biological lid which is at testing stage in USA.
